August and September
Brown bear viewing in Haines, Alaska is best during the late summer pink salmon runs. Just before the sun sets, brown bear families leave the cover of the forest to forage along the grassy riverbanks. Marvel at close-up views through powerful spotting scopes, essential for safely observing wildlife. We offer an afternoon departure from Skagway to be able to explore the area during early evening (although sightings may occur during morning departures, as well). Bear sightings can not be guaranteed, but are often frequent this time of year. Bald eagles, salmon and other wildlife are also highlights.
This excursion is offered on several cruise lines in Skagway and Haines, Alaska. Excursions may be booked online with the cruise line shore excursion links. If your cruise line does not offer this tour, contact us for booking assistance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (907) 766-2876.
