Potentially, a year-round position for the right person wanting to relocate to Haines but primarily required to work April to October (minimum)
Training and experience: This important position requires a mature self-starter with sales, organizational, and people skills. Small business and personnel management important. Knowledge of internet, email, accounting methods, spread sheets, data base, word processing, and computer graphics important. Persons willing to obtain Class B CDL, current CPR and advanced First Aid are highly desirable. Experience in the tour industry helpful.
Responsibility: Help to oversee the tour company's schedules, reservations, and marketing. Must maintain good public relations and assist in supervising staff members.

Naturalist-Guide/Driver
Between April - Sept 2022
We are looking for naturalists with a solid background in the sciences and a lot of enthusiasm for interpreting the flora and fauna of coastal Alaska. This position is for gregarious people who feel comfortable being outdoors speaking with groups. If you enjoy sharing your knowledge of the natural world, we encourage you to apply.
Our daily trips explore numerous wildlife habitats including: ocean beaches, rivers, estuaries, lakes, temperate rain forest, mountains and muskegs on foot or by bus.
Training & experience: College degree in science field or at least two years experience teaching, field work, guiding tours, or study in related subjects. This position requires a solid knowledge of local flora & fauna and numerous ecosystems. Guides need to have excellent communication skills, current CPR, advanced first aid or better, and current health card. Training is provided for the commercial drivers license. Pre-employment drug testing required for drivers.
Responsibility: Interpret natural history of the Haines area while providing a safe and enjoyable tour. Lead groups on bus tours, walks, and hikes. Must be capable of emergency response and evacuation. Make quick decisions based on group dynamics and needs of the clients. Professionalism in manner and dress are important when conducting company business.
